Batman vs Spiderman

Lets here it for a geek debate. Now asume that it is not just a contest of stregnth ie they not just a fist fight in a sealed room. This is a chance encounter at night on th erooftops and each thinks the other is a badguy...and its to the death. Use your reason not your passion for your favorite. who'd win?

Ugh...nerd talk. Ok here we go...( I can't believe I'm saying this) Batman all the way... but it would be very very close! He's older and wiser then litle punk spidey..not too mention taller and heavier. ( I'm thinking Frank Miller Batman) He could crack spidey's head off in one move if he gets his hands on him. The spider webs would be no problem. He's got a crazy chemistry set in that utility belt. He'd melt that webbing right off. Though spidey would definitely get a few good hits in there.

hmm tough...smartass billionaire or radioactive teen...hmmm

spider-man would win on the physical level, but I think ole'brucie would psychologically damage little Pete with with shadowing terror...appearing form nowhere and scaring the webbing outta spidey.

but I like the joker more then the green goblin!

yeah, I would have to say Spiderman. Batman is pretty awesome, but Spiderman can stick to things, shoot webs, and sense when batman is throwing stuff at him.

Batman only got Supes because he had a chunk of kryptonite, right?

What I wonder about is Superman versus Wolverine.

Batman has the will to kill, he looks for a fight and he strategizes to win. Peter Parker is a kid with superhuman abilities who reluctantly enters the fray to save the day. If Batman can survive their first encounter enough to learn all of Parker's abilities, the Dark Knight can then devise a way to kick Spidey's ass the second time around. And I do believe Batman can get away from Spidey's superior abilities to fight that second battle and win the war.

Jerm, what's your problem! You're supposed to be a spiderman geek-nerd-fanatic! You pick Batman???Lame-o

Spidey can take a beating as much as Batman can, but Spidey is faster, and come on! With Spidey Sense he could dodge most everything Batman can throw at him!

Not sure how he'd kill Batman though, I'll get back to you on that one ;)

I'm proud to see this here, Mark. And I still think Batman would take him but Spidey wouldn't go quietly. I know you already know I think this, I just want it on the net for aaaalll to see!

And Angus said Batman no doubt.

PS Superman pwns everyone, yes even Wolverine. (especially Batman and his stupid Kryptonite gloves. Sheesh)

First off you have to look at the guide lines laid out.
To the Death??
Batman doesn't Kill.
Peter Parker killed his girl-friend.

Batman would lose. Peter is undisciplined and reacts off of fear (spidey-sense) ie. Wolverine vs. Spiderman his "Spidey-sense" told him someone was coming up on him and BAM! He crushed a girls skull with a single punch.

To the Death??? Batman would freak Petey out so bad he would lose control of his sense of restraint and rip the wings off Bats.

Plus the Marvel universe is much harsher than DC.

NOW... If you didn't say "to the death" Batman would win by getting spiderman caught in his own webbing then knock him out and take him to Arkam. Where that spider freak belongs.

I think they'd punch each other at the same time and both die. Or maybe they'd both slip and fall into some toxic ooze and they'd morph together as 'Spatman'.

Batman. Why? Well.... Because he's Batman.
He's fought tougher bad guys than that upstart punk Spidey. Spidey might bang him up a bit at first but then the Bat would pull some wild gadget off his belt ( built just for an occasion like this ) and ice the Spider his web!
Spidey doesn't have the guts to go all the way where the Bat will kill if it is needed.

I thought the point of each was that he never likes to kill anybody. I think the cops would either find Bats hanging upside-down in a big, sticky web; or they'd stumble upon Spidey, all hog-tied with a batarang.

I am going with batman. Andrew makes a great point that batman beat superman and he did it in his fifties no less. He has also comeback from having his back broken to beat bane. batman is all around tough and does everything without powers. Spider man may have spidey strength and senses, but his quick one liners won't get him too far against batman.

Trick question.... neither kills the other. If one were to kill the other, they bring themselves down to the level of their enemies. It's the main reason as to why Batman will never kill the Joker. If he does, he becomes the Joker. Spider-man didn't kill the Green Goblin in the movie. The Green Goblin killed Norman Osborn.

Who could best the other in a fight not to the death... Batman. Spider-man does have the spider sense, but his not as analytical as Batman. The first fight might be tough for bats. Any other fight, Batman would figure out a way to pwn spidey. He could even call in his army of bats. Spider-man would be so confused from the wings flapping and sonar, he'd have not idea what to do.

10:40 PM
Blogger David Au said...

I am a hardcore Batman nerd, but unfortunately I'd have to say Spiderman would win this one. Batman doesn't kill. Spiderman will die before he gives up a fight he thinks is worth fighting.

11:32 PM
Blogger TikiAnimator said...

Trick Question... neither are capable of killing the other. If Batman or Spider-Man were to kill, they would be reduced to the same monsters that created them. This is why Batman will never kill the Joker.

In a fight not to the death, I'm giving the edge to Batman. He is more analytical than Spider-Man. The first encounter will be rough for Bats, but he will win in the end. He will figure out a way to defeat Spider-Man and his Spider Senses. All Batman has to do is call in his army of Bats (the ones from Batman Begins). Spider-Man's Spider senses will be too confused with all the wings flapping and sonar to counter Batman. The Bats swarm Peter and then Batman makes his move.

i think Batman would win because he is always prepared for anything...he probably carries kryptonite in his belt just in case superman were to go rogue. PLus, Batman is the typre of person that knows what is going on in his city, so he would probably know spiderman was in the area and expect a meeting. This totally a nerd moment, but i'm not ashamed haha.

There is an old cuban saying-
The DEVILis more of a devil because of his age then because he is a devil. In other words,Batman would beat Spidey because of his age and experience. He lost his parents to a criminal at a very young age and grew up to know the evil that man do and the lengths they go to do it. Spidey on the other hand, was first Spidey than he lost his uncle at a later age when he could deal with the loss of a sixteen year old mentality.

2nd, yes, Batman did use kryptonite to beat Supes but remember people they were friends at the time! How many people here would sink as low as Batman did by using your friends only weekness to bring him down. I mean, would you punch your buddy in the heart if you knew he had a heart transplant.
And thirdly, Batman has always been pursued and dealt with more psychotic weirdos than Spidey did. Look at the entire Arkham Asylum, their all Batman foes in there. And who does Spidey have, Craven the Hunter, venom and the Sinister Six-not one of these guys is as f' uped as the Joker.
So I believe Batman is like that cop who's been in the force for so long he doesn't trust anyone or anythingand he could, would bring Spidey down.

This is more like those documentaries at Discovery were a group of scientist research how two different animals, like Shark and Hippo, would fight each other.

Its to the death, so neither morals apply, being Batman more wiser and trained in martial arts he'd wait for spidey to attack first to learn about his oponent. Probably spidey would launch into the air and hit him with some webs! Batman doesnt expect his rival to shoot webs, he dodges the first one, the second one hits him and hes tied up. Spidey launches again this time his fists tightened, ready for a knock out blow. Batman cuts loose off the web using his one of his gadgets as Spidey falls on him, Batman gets ready to receive him, Spidey wasn't expecting that! Ands shoots a web to a nearby building, Batman manages to grab his one of Spidey's legs and with the other hand throws his Batarang to cut the web. Spidey starts turning to his back like a cat, but Batman is fast and smashes him to the ground. Spidey manages to react and turns and kicks Batman in the face! Batman stumbles back and Spidey shoots his web again, Batman knows this move and catches all the webs in his arms, and cuts them with his arm Bat-a-blades. Spidey jumps back and lands on a water tank, Batman throws a couple of Batstabbers, Spidey dodges and kicks Batman with his legs stretched. Spidey jumps out of a rooftop and swings towards the streets. Batman follows, crusing the airs with his cape, looking for Spidey.

Spidey being able to cruise the skies more easily, manages to get to a taller rooftop and launches! Falling at greatspeeds Spidey stretches and falls clear on Batman's back, Batman gasps in pain Spidey turns him and starts hitting him with everything he's got while falling through the skycappers. Spidey then holds Batman to make him fall first, Batman reacts and takes out his Tazer Gun and puts it against Spidey's chest and shoots!!! Spidey electrocutes, shocks and convulse, while Batman's suit prevents him from being stuned. Spidey is in shock, arachnid sense clouded, lets go of Batman, Batman grappels to a nearby roof and flies off. Spidey falls into a car at incredible speed. The car is crushed entirely, the people gather around to see Spidey defeated and dead, covered in blood, his suit is all torn. The Dark Knight witnesses, indiferent, his victory in the dark. He spits some blood, gets up and walks away.

Batman wins, because of his training in martial arts, rivalling awareness against arachnid sense, and the use of technology against mutant powers. Spidey is too passionate to be patient and watch and learn about his opponent, he just keeps fighting, and that brought him his defeat.

I'm going to say that batman, with all the resources he has, including intelligence, experience, and the backup mechanical gadgets (the car, those handy gas canisters, the plane, Gordon, ect.) would succeed. Spidey's on his own when he's out there.

I'd have to say Batman! Spiderman is great but Batman is too clever for him. As said above he always comes out on top, even when dealing with the Man of Steel. It'd be a good fight but Batman would out-wit good ol' Peter Parker. I mean, even the Vulture gives Spiderman a run for his money.

everyone makes some great points! but i'd have to side with spidey. it's the spider-sense that gives him the edge. it's like he has a slow-mo button on every move batman would make so spidey would be able to counter, dodge, etc. it would be a vicious battle. i see spidey sneaking up on bats which would set bats off. c'mon, no one sneaks up on the batman! and spidey's one liners would surely piss batman off to no end but even after the batman pysch outs and mental games, spidey would come out on top. can you imagine the suh-weet aerial chase sequences as the two tail each other over the rooftops? oh...!! that would be awesome!!

And the vote is ( not counting people who made cases for both or people who couldn't decide or people who couldn't just throw the "to the death" specific out th ewindow and give an answer not based on morals but skills only) the winner is BATMAN 15 votes to 6.

I appreciate all the answers and arguments. I think they were all well thought out. In the end does it matter? No. But we meger humans must ask these questions in order to arrange the universe according to our beliefs.

A friend of mine asked me to weigh in. And I would have to vote for Batman. He capable physically and that suit of his can take quite the punishment- even though Spidey could take him cause he is endowed with super powers- Batman just has the smartts to out think and out manuver the kid even if he has spidey sense. Another point to is that spideys web shooters ( traditionally) are not organic thus can be easily disabled.

So Batman would win. I was thinking of even doing a comic of the fight and post it but.... c'mon. I dont got the time.

The real question should be who'd win in a fight Jesus or Mohammed?

Okay, I love both of these character. LOVE THEM! But thinking about this carefully and weighing all both of the characters, I'd say that Spiderman would definitely give Batman the ole beatdown. He's ALOT stronger than batman (hey can lift and throw a car and he's "caught" a dump truck falling off a bridge with his webs and stopped it. He threw out his shoulder, but he did it). He's ALOT faster than Batman (spider-like reflexes ya'll), and he has spidey sense... Batgagdets don't work if your hand is webbed to your belt my nocturnal friend. So I'd say that Spidey would get the upper hand on wiley ole Batman. HOWEVER! Spidey would draw the line at killing. His bleeding heart would hesitate at the last second and Batman would use that to his advantage to gouge out the kids eyes, or bite off his ear or something. From there, Batman would use the pain and confusion to go to town on the webbed wonder and ultimately finish him off... or that's how the comic would go at least. :D
(btw- I totally think that Spiderman would wipe the streets of New York up with Batman, but I'm applying comic logic to this conversation.)

Blogger Ariella said...

I've had this conversation a billion times, and people always say Spiderman would win simply because of his super strength and webbing abilities - wrong!

Yes, spiderman IS significantly stronger than Batman, but hello, Batman is a NINJA as well as a magician, so really it would be pretty fair. Also, I've seen Batman swing from rooftops in the comics and the television series (the good one) many a time - he is capable of swinging and gliding just like spiderman.

Batman also has a twisted side to him. Many comics have questioned his mental state and they've all suggested he's a little unbalanced. This suggests that in a random fight on the rooftops, he'd be a little more aggressive, and probably a little blinded in his rage. He wouldn't be as quick to duck out as Spiderman either.

Come on people. Yes, spiderman is pretty awesome, and 'tough', but just look at them! There's so much more to Batman as a character, and a series...everything! He would win hands down.

And, if we learned something from Morrison's JLA, is this: Batman can take down anybody.

Yes he might do what ever he can, but it wont be enough to go up against Batman. Batman has intelegence, experience, cool gadgets, and some people to back him up if hes ever needs help.(Wich he never does)

Spiderman became who he was only because he got bit by some radioactive spider or what ever the heck it was. Batman became a super hero because he chose to. He dosent need super powers to be super. Hes naturally a B.A.M.F.

Dude? SPIDEY...versus BATMAN? Seriously?

Now, I LOVE me some Spidey! The classic quippy stuff I grew up with! (I TOTALLY stopped reading after that whole..ahem...clone thing! but, I just picked it back up again after the re-boot). But...up on BATMAN?

No contest.

Spidey is cool and mad quick. But, he's like Dick Grayson. He doesn't got the serious down. Batman? He's ALL serious and VERY up on the strategy! So, I'm pretty sure that in a very short amount of time, The B would have disarmed the Spidey.

I'm also pretty sure that the fight wouldn't last too long because 'ol Pete would be yakking away which would give Bruce the fact that Spidey, is not, in fact, a villain. He's another..ahem..hero. So Batman would bundle him up, and stick him on the first vehicle heading out of Gotham...with the threat of a serious hurting should he come back.

Batman's not so much on the friendly.

I would say that both of them would
pin each other...remember guys that
Spider-Man is 40 something times stronger than a human and that includes Batman which means if that
Spider-Man landed a shot on the Bat
man's face-the Dark Night is a gonna. But of course Batman could land a batarang on the Web Slinger's skull and that would be probably the end of Spider-Man.

It would have to be the Bats hands down. Not only will his age and experience prevail, but his overall analytical genious is amazing. Batman has almost an unlimited array of gadgets for his convenience and if it's not there...he'll make it. Batman would probably take a sample of spidermans web and find its weakness and then exploit it, because face it, without his web he's no match for the Batman, all he'd have to do is use some kind of smoke bomb near himself and when spiderman comes in for hand to hand combat he'll get poisoned and pass out, just like he did with the Green Goblin. Then, He'd take the crazy spider to Arkham wearing a Batman costume with his mouth taped and his hands and feet bound to where he'll never break free... Let's see how long he lasts with some real villans.

Anybody who votes for Batman, is either a mindless fanboy, or doesn't know squat about What Spidey can do.

You see, in normal "Chance encounters" Spidey is holding back when he fights with non-powered humans.

But the conditions of this fight explicitly say it's a fight to the death. And that means Spidey kills Batman with ONE punch.

Spidey routinely knocks out humans with finger-flicks. Yeah, you heard me right. Finger Flicks. That's how strong he is. If he punched a human being with even a fraction of his real strength he'd take their head off.

And speed? The man CATCHES Bullets in his barehands. A half dozen men shoot machine guns at him from every direction, and he dodges the bullets. He outran(well, outswung) weird homing bullets that chased him halfway across the city.

Spidey is so insanely physically superior to batman, it's not even funny. In the time it would take Batman to even realize he's gonna need to come up with one hell of a plan, Spidey would have knocked him halfway across the city.

The only reason people like Elektra or Daredevil ever keep up with Spidey is because Spidey holds back when he fights them, to avoid hurting them.

And that's not even mentioning the Spider Sense. It's so acute he can fight blindfolded relying on nothing but his Spidersense to tell him what to do.

And everything I just said, that was BEFORE his recent power boost. Now he's even faster. Now his suped up reflexes are hardwired into his Spider Sense, which is now so sensitive that before he got used to it, he once accidently perceived a friendly hand on his shoulder as an attack, and took the guy down so quick nobody saw it. His strength has increased as well.

He used to knock people out with fingerflicks. Now he could probably kill people with Fingerflicks if he wanted to.

People think Spidey's weak, cuz sometimes glorified Kung Fu chumps can give him a half decent fight. But that's only because SPIDEY HOLDS BACK AGAINST HUMAN LEVEL OPPONANTS. Because his sense of right and wrong is so powerful he couldn't live with the guilt if he accidently killed them.

If Spidey ever took the kid gloves off and decided to fight Batman for real, all out, without holding back, it would be over with one punch.

A punch that would land so fast Batman would be dead before he had the slightest clue what hit him.

Heck, Spidey could take the entire Bat Family on, and call it a pretty slow day. The only one who'd even have a chance is Azrael, and even he's nothing Spidey hasn't beaten a hundred times already(BEFORE Spidey got his power boost)

Oh and no, Prep wouldn't really help Batman much either. Better people than Batman have tried to Prep for Spidey. They knew Spidey's strengths and weaknesses intimately. Didn't help them. Wouldn't help Batman. If Batman's the King of Prep, Spidey is the King of Improv. His improv beats Prep almost every time. Combine Spidey's talent for improv with his VAST phsyical superiority, and it's really just not a contest.

Batman needs to stay in the little leagues with people like Daredevil, Elektra, Catwoman, and Nightwing, where he belongs. He hasn't got anywhere near what it takes to go mano a mano with Spidey in any kind of engagement where you don't handicap Spidey in an epic kind of way.

The problem is, whenever Batman appears in a comic, the writers make everybody else in that comic weaker and stupider, so that Batman will look good by Comparison. They do this because Batman's one of the biggest moneymakers in the DC Company. So they hype him up, and the only way to do that is to make it look like he actually deserves to breath the same air as characters with serious Superpowers and the skills and brains to match.

When he's NOT holding himself back, or going easy on his opponants for fear of killing them, Spidey is on a whole other level. Batman would have to take his Hulk Hogan vitamins every day for the next thirty years if he wanted to give Spidey a half decent fight.

Spider-Man as he is known today: Abilities; Superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility, reflexes and durability, Gifted intellect,
Ability to stick to solid surfaces,
Clairvoyant "spider-sense", Night vision, Accelerated healing factor,
Toxic stingers that extend from forearms, Ability to produce both organic and synthetic spider-webbing.
_____________________________

Batman as he is known today: Abilities; Genius-level intelligence, Master detective,
Peak human physical condition, Martial arts master,Access to high tech equipment.

*This is just a basic reminder of what each Man is capable of. This doesn't include their morals or passions pushed.

I believe each man would look at the symbols on one another's chest ; size up and plan an attack based on what each knows about spiders and bats. Though not taking for granted that each may be a hybrid, human or other of some kind. Both have had whacked-out adversary's that have matched or over matched each of their skills. Ie: Venom and Bane.

I foresee an exhausting draw with Peter giving the death stroke and/or Bruce placing a mini bomb of some kind on Peters person. Both going out with a cloud of smoke. As I write this I just don't feel Bruce would choose to blow himself up with Spider-man. Would he trust Robin and others to carry on his legacy?

Batman is nuts but how nuts? Spider-man is always under estimated by his opponents. Currently in Spder-man's "One more day" story line he kicked Iron Mans can.

My question is which money bags would win; Batman or Iron Man?

Iron Man: Abilities; Genius-level intelligence, Cyberpathic link with powered armor, Possesses the Reality Gem, Skilled hand-to-hand combatant, Powered armor grants: Super-strength,Flight,Energy blasts.

Spiderman has destroyed several villans that would rip his minuite vertabrae out of his back!!!! Take the Rhino for instance. He has more durability and strength . Not to mention bigger and badder. To rhino bane is no more than the nuclei of a cell. Plus if batman barely defeated captain america who doesn't have any super powers nor gadgets . Batman got his back broken by a guy on sterioids!!!! You say he beat superman!!!! You are a discrace not only to dc comics but to all comic companys on this earth!!!!!!! Well by the 49 comments to my query it is easy to see that no one has any opinions on this subject. I used to get into fights with my cousin over who could win in a fight between the Thing and the Hulk..... his answer was the Hulk because he had is own tv show.

Ultimately a contest 'to the death' between any super hero could go either way. Just depends on where your alegences lie. Defining what is better ro who is better is a flaw in our human psycee ( spelled wrong for Zachs benefit) its like saying one martial art is better than another or one car is better than another or one pair of underware is better than another or one form of measurement is better than the other. The only real defining aspect is what the individual likes better.

Pros and Cons thats what its about. Bother heros - spidey and Bats- have pros an cons. In a contest 'to the death' either can win or loose. Thats how I see it. Wether you want to be blind to chance or unforseen variables or not thats your call.

Spidey aint all that because if he was he'd be boring. And Bats aint all that either. The can't really exist in the same universe...really. I don't even know if anyone is still reading all this but if you are....

Batman can kick spidermans ass any time any place.

This one goes to Batman as the same as said if he battles Iron Man or Dr Doom.
Most people falls in just seen the abilities of a metahuman, inhuman or mutan abilities apart, but they never compare Batman as a whole and what can possible do.
Batman itself is a being capable of defeating anyone by deducting and analyzing everything because he survived wining battles that way,(if you wanna called it seen weak points) of course he can be defeated is human after all, but in this where it radicates the most important, been a mere human can defeat most (if not any) dc, marvel character.
his 110% will(To do what he thinks is correct) and confidence of what he is and believe, make him imposibble to brainwash by magic, and have the intelligence, technology and wealth to backup his battles.
assuming this, Batman would not face spiderman close quarters at least not without and armor suit and not questioning their abilities to make a deduction process of weak patterns.) Spiderman in comics apply this but i assure you that is applied in another level by batman, and of course was the first in doing this.

I put you this argument, does spiderman can surpass Iron Man in Strenght and Dr Doom in Intellect or overwhelm it only by himself.

There are just humans as you peole said about Batman...

Of course not:

Tony Stark as Iron Man surpass in strenght and endurance to spiderman.

and Dr Doom normally face a bunch of heroes to be defeated.

But Batman can defeat them, you want arguments then search for them in other forums.

Speaking as a lifelong batman fan, it kills me to say this but I would prob have to give it up to Parker with his list of super powers. While Batman is superior in mental toughness, discipline, forms of martial arts, etc... Spider-man has an assortment of superpowers that he relies on to get the job done; and these powers constantly keep getting boosted/amplified, to keep Marvel from going out of business.

But lets not forget, Batman has been around a lot longer than Spider-man and that does play a factor in these types of situations. It should also be noted that Batman deals with super strength villains all the time and is the only guy to ever dodge an Omega-Beam from the lord of Apocalypse himself, Darkseid. Batman has also turned down opportunities for super powers, magic spells/weapons/items,and immortality for one.
So if its a question of integrity and character, SpiderMan has no chance.
If you stripped him of his powers, he'd be nothing... his hero days would be over.
Batman has had his back broken, nuff said.

And if you want to talk about Big Leagues, lets throw the spider up against "big blue".
No Contest, No Chance... EVER
Nobody can win out over the Alpha, the Omega, the Original super hero himself, Superman.
He's the standard, the origin.

So while Batman outclasses every Marvel hero without powers or tech suits, crutches, etc... Superman does the same to every one with super abilities.

The moral of the story here is...
DC>MARVEL

Batman first off... has killed once b4, and his dark night comics prove he is not afraid of braking some one physically or mentally. You all forget how young spider man is, he is easily broken, and it has been seen many times. He quit being spiderman over the gayest little things, batman on the other hand never quit, even in old age. all Batman needs is some of spidees blood and he would probably
create some kind of serum to take him down with ease. And the whole spider sense, spider man has sensed stuff b4, but still got hit by it. Spider man also has many weaknesses, his gf, his aunt, and his friends.... in the end batman has the bigger balls, i don't think spiderman would have the balls to stair a rouge superman dead in the eyes.

My vote: Batman

First off, Bruce Wayne is insanely smarter than Peter Parker. For example: Peter Parker, who is allegedly smart, isn't smart enough to use his intelligence to make much more money to facilitate him taking care of Aunt May and being a more active hero. I'm not talking about using his powers for his own good...I'm talking about using the intellect he already had (and that others already knew he had).

Spider sense is only partially useful. Just because you know something is coming doesn't mean you're going to avoid it. When Batman misses, it means you're in deep trouble. Once Batman realizes that exists (which would likely be because Spidey blabs about it), he would use that against him...making sure Spidey knew just how much danger he was in. After all, psychological warfare has been Bat's main weapon since day 1.

Spiderman has the physical attributes to overpower Batman. However, Batman's a martial arts expert...and many forms of martial arts focus on using your opponents strength against them.

As if Spidermans senses are that good anyway, he is always getting hit by things he does not see i mean come on just watch the movies he is always getting beaten up. Spiderman couldnt sense batman in the shadows.

Uh, sorry to break this to you guys, but Spiderman can sense any danger that comes his way(even a man who hides behind his gadgets!) Firstly, he is stronger, faster, and has more compassion towards justice. Batman can get carried away easily. Secondly, some people say that Bats would win just beause hes older(their have been a lot of different Batmans, which means different levels of wisdom) and he has more experience. What experience does Batman have againt the amazing Spiderman. He has never gone up against an foe like Spiderman. Sure, Batman can find a way to deal with Spiderman's webbing, but how fast can he figure it out before Spiderman and his super strength knock him out in one single blow. People just pick Batman because hes darker and cooler to some, but come on. Face the reality.

LONG LIVE SPIDERMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

batman would give him a fight but would mainly be swinging at air as spidermans spider senses would enable him to dodge everything batman threw and as stated above batman coulnt kill whereas spiderman would if necessary!

First of all morals do apply because both would die before killing(except spiderman in back in black). Second even with his best technology and martial arts batman is physically inferior to spiderman. Third if we are measuring ability by villains spiderman wins again by having not just psychopaths but extremely powerful and intelligent psychopaths(Green Goblin, Carnage, Venom, Kraven etc.), mob lords, and various other villains. Third there isnt much of a difference between batman and spiderman intelligence wise, because spiderman is also good at technology, and I would say better at improvising in battle. Spiderman takes the win Because of his superior strength, speed, agility, mobility, and he has his spidersense.

My Dear Superhero Debaters,
First, to all of you who think that the Spidey-sense is Spider-man's greatest asset...are wrong. Spider-man has had that sense dulled, eliminated, and scrambled so many times it's not funny. The writers cleverly get him out of the situation every time. Batman is superior to Spider-man even if Spidey can improv. Batman has beaten people much more fast, strong, and well rounded then Spidey. Batman always has what he needs on him (another nod to the writers of comics there), and would be able to disable Spidey with a few well placed gas pellets (much like Goblin did in Spider-man 1 I might add). And the dude who said Spidey knocks out humans in one flick? True, but Batman has gone against opponents who suck out your soul in one flick, and kill you in the process. Batman Wins. Spider-man returns alive to New York because Batman is wise enough to only want one city to care for.

Spider-man would win hands down. Sure, batman know martail arts,he's rich, he has a whole lot of cool gadgets, he's a cool super hero, but Spider-Man is superior in so many ways; And Batman can't throw any gadgets at Spidey if his hands are tied together, and if all you Batman fanatics think that one of Batman gadgets can cut through his web, bull crap; Spideys web is flame proof, acid proof, Thing proof, and Hulk proof(as said in the original Spidey comics). And if Batman does get the chance to throw one of his gadgets at him, he has his spidey-sence and super speed to back him up. And if Batman does the impossible and kills Spidey, he'll just come back to life(it happened in the amazing spider man evolve or die comic #527, were this inmortal kind of dood killed Spidey, and thanks to evolution, another Peter Parker was created). But the real question is, if both the super-heros fighting for the same reason, why would they wnat to kill each other or even get in a fight?

just to let all those people who think spidey killed his own girl friend, he didn't. he tried to save her from falling to her doom thanks to the green goblin. And for the person who is "kings road production" DC is more violent and vicous than the Marvel Universe, havn't you seen or herd about the Mask comics? if you havn't, google search it, it is way more vicous and violent than any comic book I have ever seen.

PLUS he has a police commissioner on his side whereas Spiderman is on the fence-people either love him or hate him-much like marmite anyway Batman obviosly has much more strength! not just physically but mentally- he can outwit the riddler and destroy the Joker whilst leaving two-face baffled, he also has a better suit, the technology by Lucius Fox is unbelievable but peter parker is just some sweaty little boy who happens to draw quite well and magically get himself a suit. Overall Batman is BETTER! (now i didn't want to unleash that nerdy side of me but lets face it i needed to prove that Batman is better-and i think i did)

Honestly...wrapping up Batman with webs? Do you people even read comics? Mysterio created a special serum spray that could dissolve Spidey's webs. Batman would have his entire suit filtering that stuff out all over. Also, from reading Spider-man comics, we see his delayed reactions to people gassing him. His Spider-senses seem not to go so well with this. And in answer to the dear spidey fanatics "re-live-the-spidey" comment, Batman has connections to a thing called a Lazarus Pit, known in the DC Universe for resurrecting people. Batman would have no need to throw anything directly at Spidey, the gas could fill a room, or be spread all over a rooftop. Spidey would be swinging all over trying to get within Batman's close quarters range, where he would be dosed and beaten. Sorry Spidey fans. But the Batman still comes out on top.

spidey doesnt hav moral support and depends a lot on his powers, rather than his inside power and is afraid of everything who challenges him..

Lot of fans out here are just referencing movies for the data.

Keeping into account:
Batman is a man.
Spiderman is above average.
I give batman intelligence to "figure out" a situation.
I give spiderman the ability to not allow that secondary situation to occur for Batman to "adjust".

Batman has to prep to beat people like Spiderman, I'm a Bats fan as many of you are, but I read Marvel and DC both.

Spidersense means anything thrown by the Batman gets avoided, one not even well placed punch from spiderman would Kill Batman,
Batman can not dodge Spiderman, maybe the first web. But the punches and kicks at the strength level we are talking about (tonnage) would crush his suit and his life force.

Remember, not many gadgets have meaning when Batman is not prepared.

Everything revolves around Batman and what he's done to DC folk, I don't count crossover DC / Marvel comics, because they draw them in a way where no Fan boy can get too upset for their favorite loosing a match and both companies "DC and Marvel" walk away without truly answering the question.

In reality Spiderman out classes Batman, based off situational's alone.

Batman would have to loose that first fight to have a chance against a foe like Spiderman later on, that first fight being lost would be the end of Bats.
DC is a much nicer place than the marvel universe, if you read both you'd see it.
Spiderman is the comic relief of Marvel along with Deadpoool, the comments, the beauty of this match up is, it would prove that even if you prepare, you may still find your downfall.
In comics, Batman always has "just" what he needs against someone to get the edge, in reality being a normal man, you will only go so far.
With Prep I go with Batman, but I go with Punisher over Batman any day, with Prep the Punisher is deadly, where Batman is just attmempting to subdue. I believe even Batman would underestimate the strength and fighting ability of a "Kid" like Peter Parker.

Lets's look at facts:

SPIDER-MAN:
Peter can cling to most surfaces, has superhuman strength (able to lift 10 tons optimally) and is roughly 15 times more agile than a regular human. The combination of his acrobatic leaps and web-slinging enables him to travel rapidly from place to place. His spider-sense provides an early warning detection system linked with his superhuman kinesthetics, enabling him the ability to evade most any injury, provided he doesn't cognitively override the autonomic reflexes.

Note: his power enhancements through his transformation by the Queen and after battling Morlun - including his organic web glands and stingers - have been undone after Spider-Man's deal with Mephisto.

Abilities
Peter is an accomplished scientist, inventor and photographer.

Weapons
None

Paraphernalia
Spider-Man designed and constructed several devices that he traditionally carries as part of his full costume. This includes twin artificial web-shooters worn at the wrists, spare web cartridges attached to his belt, spider-tracer devices attuned to his spider-sense, the spider-signal light, and a compact camera. He has reconstructed his web shooters out of a high density plastic to avoid metal detectors, and has added modifications to detect low web-fluid levels, and propel spider-tracers.

For a time while allied with Iron Man, Spider-Man wore a costume that was equipped with filters in the mouth area to keep out toxins and allow him to breathe underwater, audio amplification, visual amplification (including vision in the infrared and ultraviolet wavelengths), a short-range GPS microwave communication system (with a built-in fire, police, and emergency scanner), and retractable webbing under his arms that allow short bursts of gliding. The costume was made of a material that could serve as a bulletproof jacket against small caliber bullets. For the first upgrade to the costume, Stark added three mechanical waldo arms, which can grab and move objects as well housing cameras which transmit images back to the costume's eyepiece. The waldoes can also be used offensively in combat. The costume is now built out of a liquid metal nanofiber material allowing it to quickly change in appearance upon mental command into anything from Spider-Man's civilian clothes to his former costumes, as well as providing camouflage by blending with the surrounding colors.

(This should sum up some information. Spiderman can lift 10 tons)
Batman has nothing that can hold this man down other than a knock out gas, which wouldn't be his first attack, thus his downfall)

Spiderman based off factual information all the way.

Superman has the worst weakness in the world to be the all powerful of the DC universe, no wonder Batman beat him, doesn't everyone know that Superman can't take kryptonite? Could have sworn that that was common knowledge.

Also, someone in the DC universe explain how no marksman has ever shot Batman in the part of his face that is exposed.......

I'll wait...
lol

Just adding that everyone's forgetting... Spider-Man has enhanced resistance, else he'd been dead YEARS ago. So knocking him out won't at all be easy. Oh, and while he was unconscious, his spider-sense+reflexes made him grab onto a fire escape and save himself. Furthermore, Spider-Man's jokes are used to deal with fear, so that and his spider-sense will keep him from being scared by the Dark Knight. Also, Spidey, like Superman, holds back his strength when he fights. In the Secret Wars, he took out a T-Rex with one punch. Also, he can break steel chains. Decide for yourselves ^_^

The Bat is tough and I do like him but really everyone alway points out how strong and well trained the Batman is. Spidey's taken on Wolverine and Deadpool before. he's beaten them and they are just ass and even better trained than the bat. Plus is you see what spidey did in the final battle of this civil war You know Batman would get his ass handed to him. Spider-man has also dealt with gagets before even more deadly than bat mans.(( who by the way is not in to killing just like spidey so he doesn't carry a whole lot of leathal weapons))
On that note spider man's web can retstrain a normal human easily from head to toe before he can even reach he tool belt. Spider man is fast and stronger and just as smart in a fight plus spider sence beats bat a rangs. It sure in hell can beat bullets.

It pisses me off that most of these arguments are based off the movies. Don't call yourself a nerd until you've amassed the comic books and have actual solid knowledge on your vigilantes and superheros. Thank you. Have a nice day.

Spidey has his Spider-Senses
Batman has his years of training of observing his surroundings without the aid of his eyes.

Spidey has Super human strength
Batman does not. However “A drop of wisdom is more powerful than an ocean of brute force”

Spidey has his Webbing to tie foes up, and swing from building to building.
Batman has grappling hook, Bat-a-rangs, and other items to do the same thing.

Peter Parker/Spidey is a very smart Scientist and Computer Hacker (somewhat).
Bruce Wayne/Bats is a very smart Businessman, Detective, and Martial Arts expert.

Spidey had no background training in fighting…so it’s pretty much Acrobatics and Street fighting.
Bats has studied in many Martial Arts worldwide including the ways of the Ninja and how they hide in the shadows.

Both have taken many beatings in the past (Very positive that Batman has been shot more times…and he’s mortal).
Both have lost loved ones (Spidey: Uncle Ben, Parents, & Old Girlfriend: Gwen Stacy. Bats: Parents, Robin, and a best friend of his…)
Both had “love interests” with Cat-related women when they don on their costumes. Batman had Catwoman, who is a criminal, thief, and a very stern animal activist. Spidey had The Black Cat who is pretty much Gwen Stacy with a powerful mask that makes her more agile, has cat-like abilities, and changes her identity.

Those are just somethings to think about when you are voting. A lot of people say “Spidey will just shoot his webs, tie Batman up, and beat him”. Well you have to consider that Batman has gone out of situations like that with cutting the ropes with his bat-a-rang, so I think he could do the same in this situation. This would be a very tough battle intellectually, mentally, and physically, but I think in the end, Batman will come out victor.

Batman is very powerful, he has a supply of gadgets, imperious combat skills and he's as people say very analytical of his opponents, he assesses and then exploits the weaknesses they expose...but for those who say he'd beat Spiderman, let me remind you this: Spiderman is a genius, he defeats more powerful people like Venom, Carnage, Morlun, Scorpion, Doctor Octopus and Doctor Doom not just by raw power, but his extreme intelligence...he'd edge out Batman, remember he's fought people like Hobgoblin and Green Goblin who also possess weapons, gadgets and design tactics to stop opponents, and yet Spidey triumphs on each occasion. So Batman poses less threats.

Batman beat Superman because he had some serious kryptonie stones, Spidey has taken down the Hulk on countless occasions.

Blogger SpiderChris_777 said...

I honestly love Spider-Man because, besides the Flash's physically active power to run and move at super-sonic to light-speed unlike Superman's dull laying down position while flying, Spidey's more uber-athletic compared to Batman which would allow him to jump stories up in the air and super-acrobatically be able to pull off stunts that a trained human would have a hard time accomplishing. He also 2 truly originally-designed suits, unlike the simple underwear/cape costumes of Superman and his human knock-off Batman. It's red with webs and the Venom suit is boldly jet-black with a large electric white spider and also has the most unique mask that looks like a really awesome children's halloween mask.

Now, besides all of this: Peter Parker has the heightened strength of a large spider that is at least a couple of levels ABOVE what Batman has obtained. Second: the moment Spidey hits Batman, it would cause serious injury to Bruce's muscle structure and tendons which would instantly weaken them. Three: Bruce Lee could throw 4 punches in a span of a second just like Batman can, but Spidey can punch 6 or even 7 times in a span of a second. Four: Spidey's spider-sense/instincts/reflexes gives him an edge that counteracts Bruce's trained-planning expertise during the fight. Five: Spidey can achieve nearly impossible agile movements that would make it look like Batman is fighting water. Six: Webs would quickly engulf Batman while the smoke pellets thrown by Batman would be dodged by Spidey.

NOW, the OPEN HONEST ANSWER outside my hardcore-fan raving of Spider-Man: With all of the proven and true points I've made above: it looks like that even though Batman has been super-popular for his humanity, darkness, handsome good looks and sexiness to women, bravery/confidence, wealth, and bad-ass trained martial arts/detective prowess... Spider-Man can still beat Batman which means that, if truly given a choice by God, a human-being... even Batman himself would rather have super-power over human-power because of much more fun and possibilities. (Examples: Batman wants to keep Superman's powers during Batman/Superman #53-#55) They came out a few years back.

Alright, I can't read this anymore. How the hell could batman beat spidey? Answer - he can't. Batman is smart and very strong, but the only reason he beat Superman is because he had a chunk of kryptonite (yes, even in the frank miller one). Spidey is beyond genius level I.Q. he invented His own webbing for godsake! On top of that he can lift over 10 tons, and you think bats can beat him? Any rope gadget Batman throws on him, he'll bust out of in two seconds. And no, Batman doesn't go around fighting people like Spidey all the time, it would be like fighting an army. The only person close is Bane and look what happened there. Then there's the spider-sense, it's been shown many times he is just as nimble and can react just as well if he didn't have his spider-sense. Batman would have to use his gadgets to come close to winning, but he will lose. Spiderman has goes up against tougher villians everyday, heck, spidey has actually died (not been sent back in time). They both have thier strengths, but spidey wins. Anyone who says otherwise is delusional.

So factors to take into account: Batman is still humans and is only able to take on opponents after profiling them and gaining insight into their powers and weakness'
That being said on a physical note, Spider-man trumps Batman, not only does he have spider like strength speed and agility but he has his spider sense which trumps all projectiles
that being said batman is way better trained.
Batman is also richer and has access to better weaponry.... but this is a chance encounter, Batman CAN'T win... Spider-man is just naturally too strong

When they both show up for a fight batman would still have the edge, yeah yeah spidey has his sense and alll, but batmans famous for stealth so it would be even at the beggining, spidermans webs vs bruces tools, bruce has a miniature freeze ray in his belt so he would freeze the web and break em off, next spideys flexibility and strength, batmans fought harley quinn and one like every time and shes flexible, the only difference is that hes stronger, batman would win because hes traveled all over the world and trained his body to the peak of physical perfection. So regardless of spideys powers Batman has a backup to fight them all. Plus bruces mentalally stronger, he survived scarecrows fear gas, if spideys took that hed be shitting webs all day long

This is stupid. I'm sorry batman fans, but the whole "batman can beat superman, he can beat anyone" line is just stupid. Superman turns to jello around kryptonite. Spider-man has no such weakness. And in case you guys didn't read, this is a fight to the death, meaning no second encounter, no time for batman to learn from the first encounter. As far as surprising spider-man, not gonna happen. Spidey sense? Forget about that thing? And thinking that Spider-man isn't a strategist just shows your fanboyism for batman, and ignorance of your knowledge about Spider-Man. Spider-Man may not be able to strategize like batman, but he just flat out outclasses batman. Spider-Man is faster, stronger, can take way more punishment, and can't be surprised. Batman has no chance

I am extremely mad that all of you are downgrading spidey i mean all of you are saying he is stupid. No hes not bats but dont foreget he is peter parker wiz kid one of the smartest people in the marvel universe falling short to maybe iron man and hulk/bruce banner. Some of you have said he doesnt take the time to watch or analyze a situation but in fact this is the way he ALWAYS beats his enemies he is. In the show comics and movies you always here him in his head devising plans to take down his opposition. Even his funny wit and joking banter is his plans he uses these to infuriate his enemies and make them fight blindly ...now this wont work on calm collected batman but still its just as a point of his intelligence. Now in the fight it would be extremly close because in reality these to are like dc and marvel versions of each other neither is really to far from being human. I mean bats is human but the ultimate in physical and mental ability spidey is again a genius and only about 8 times his weight although sometimes its seems to be more. Anyway both are smart both are strong. Both find weaknesses in opponents. the only edge i give to spidey winnig is he is super he is stronger and faster. thts all his spidey sense doesnt count against bats because his senses are so fine tuned there are on par to spider sense. so long drawn out fight is ended with spidey just being more acrobatic stronger and faster and thts why spiderman wins but i would expect him to pass out after a fight like this

Spider Man, dont ask stupid questions.

He is stronger, more agile, has better speed and mobility. He is also a brilliant scientist by this point in comic books. AAAAAAND he is just as much, if not more so, a ninja than batman. His powers allow him to do so. He has always had a knack for sneaking up on people. And compare what they did in each movie..Spiderman stopped a moving train with two web shots. and still continued to fight crime even after gwen stacy and uncle ben died. batman almost gave up being batman because his bitch got blown up. Shows you who they really are right there.

Bahaha, this is a joke. Spiderman is super human and intelligent. Batman may have defeated superman but only by using kryptonite. Spiderman defeated The Hulk with just his abilities. This isn't even a fair match, spiderman's only true weakness is perhaps his arrogance.

This is a joke. Spiderman would demolish batman within minutes if not seconds... Spiderman can lift up to 10 tons and defeated The Hulk single handedly. While Batman is smart, Spiderman is also a genius. The only reason why batman defeated superman was because of the kryptonite. Batman is completely out of his league here.

Chris Kuehl says...
I love coming to forums concerning the "what-if" fight between Batman and Spider-Man. Okay, now, first off: Batman ain't no super-human; like Ip Man, Bruce Lee, and Jet Li, their speed and power really does catch the watchers' eye. They are only almost or at the pinnacle of human physical perfection, BUT remember: they AREN'T super-human. Spidey, in reality if he existed, could easily beat an experienced, highly skilled, street-fighting martial artist who knows jeet kune do and wing chun and chinese kung fu. He would be too fast for the martial artist and concerning density- too strong for the boxer or wrestler. Spider-Man has skin as touch as the exoskeleton of a spider combined with his own skin, advanced healing-ability, tough limber dense muscles with probably the density of leather or whale skin, agility that is 2 to 4 times that of an olympic-gymnast and circus acrobat, a spider-sense that lets him know of danger before it touches or hits him, and finally Half the speed of sound (the top running/moving speed of Kal-El aka Superman). I remember laying in bed at nighttime watching a tiny spider, the size of a pen point, crazily and quickly jumping up to 10 or 20 times the length of its body in all directions around the lamp base; so imagine Peter Parker, with the speed and enhanced reflexes of that little spider multiplied many times over proportionately. It took a second or two for that little spider to do what it was doing before I could blink (with the speed of my eyes, I still couldn't keep up with that little spider).

My point is: Spider-Man can and will beat Batman. Plus, the web-fluid from his web-shooters is as strong as steel and in reality that's exactly how spiders' webs really are. So Bruce Wayne, once caught and tangled up, won't go anywhere for at least 1 or 2 hours until it dissolves.

If Batman is able to have his utility belt on him to make it a level-playing field then:
Tear gas won't phase Spidey that much, he's fast enough to dodge a batarang, and faster than a shooting taser. Electricity can knock Spider-Man down, but he can quickly recover from it compared to an ordinary person. The only disadvantage is that it removes the static electricity omitted from his hands and feet for wall-crawling. But honestly, Spider-Man can beat Batman in seconds if not minutes.

I belive that Spiderman is tue best. and to answer the question at hand, it would be still be spiderman. Spidie like to mouth off to his bad guys and batman would get pissed and then destracted and die. And on top of that bat wouldnt have the guts to kill any one, he can even kill joker even thow he has count less chances.. so ya totally spiderman.

The obvious answer is Spiderman. In a straight up fight there's just no way that Batman could take Spidey on. Spidey would web Bats and rip his pointy ears and laugh at him as he swings away...NOW on a rematch when Bruce comes prepared and knows exactly who he's facing, ol' Spidey would have his webbed butt handed to him swiftly and promptly. And just to piss him off more, Bruce Wayne would probably date Mary Jane as an afterthought.

They both have impressive resume's. Spidey took down the Xmen and was only stopped when Xavier clouded his mind. He's fought the Hulk and walked away alive, mind you it was the grey Hulk but Hulk nonetheless. He's beaten some very tough customers such as Doctor Doom, The Rhino, Venom, Carnage, The Abomination, Juggernaut to name a few. He's had run ins against the Fantastic Four and came out on top. He fought his way out of battleworld in Secret Wars, took down Ultron! the sentient robot covered in Adamantium, the hardest metal in the world! Fought the Absorbing Man, the guy that fights Thor to a stand still, and won! these are just some of the few battles that come to mind. Despite his nerdiness Peter Parker is one tough Hombre!

Batman's resume is no less impressive and considering he's a normal Human being with no special powers except for his intellect and vast fortune, i'd say it stacks higher than Spidey's. Christ he took down Darkseid of all people, the one being that could probably beat down the Marvel Universe single handedly, beat him at his own game by using only his mind. He endured a 7 year torture by Dessad in Apokolips of all places and turned it to his favor! He beat down five White Martians with nothing but a book of matches, five beings with the same power levels as Supes. He could take on the JLA if he wanted to on a slow day, shall I go on? Bruce is not infallible though, he has had his arse handed to him by Lady Shiva, The White Monkey and Prometheus to name a few, but he always learned from his defeats and came out on top on his next encounters.

Ol' Spidey is simply outmatched the second time around. As a genius billonaire, there really is nothing he can't accomplish if he puts his mind and wallet to it. I can see Bruce launching a couple of Waynetech Satellites that would somehow dull his Spidey Sense and slow him to a crawl. As fast and strong as Spidey is, he's done for when he faces a prepared Batman.

My verdict? Spidey Round 1, Bats Round 2, and the final round? Bats once more. Luv you Spidey but Batman is the undisputted champion no doubt!

I have to agree with CrimsonRevenger and Lord Ulric. In a chance meeting on the street, Spiderman wins. The average, non-comic book geek, just does not realize the extent of his speed, agility, strength and how predictive his spider-sense is (I would go into him taking out the X-Men and how he shot webs to the location before Night Crawler teleported there, but others have done a much better job).

So, in a random, on the street encounter, Spiderman wins (hard for me to say as I am a huge Batman fan).

But, round 2 goes to Batman for all the reasons already mentioned. In any planned encounter against any hero or villan, Batman wins.

I don't think there is a round 3 because after Batman proves to Peter Parker, which Batman has probably figured out who he really is, that he can whip him as need be, they come to a mutual understanding that they are fighting on the same side and Batman figures out how to maximize Spiderman's usefulness.

You got the first part right, spidey would win the first and second encounter. Forget parker is a genius as well? Come on man, spidey is a boss at finding opponents weakness as well as the bat. And what's spideys weakness? Venom and Carnage, and he still beats them both, without spidey senses.

I can't believe people are saying Batman. That's like saying Captain America could beat Thor, or Iceman could beat Green Lantern, or maybe even Gambit beating Superman. It's just a dumb comparison. In terms of raw strength, you have a superhero that on paper is stronger than the Hulk. And if you go look up character stats from the Marvel Universe game you'll see it's true. Plus, look at who repeatedly saves the universe in Marvel. It's almost always Spiderman (Secret Wars 1 and 2, etc). Batman only saves Gotham. Yeah Batman might know more fighting styles, but what good does that do if your opponent can't really be hurt? This guy falls off skyscrapers and gets up and walks away. You really think some Kung Fu is going to take him down? Gadget-wise, yeah, Batman has him all day, but it helps being a billionaire so you can buy your gadgets and make yourself into a hero. If Spiderman wanted anything, he could take it if he was like that. With his mind he would easily become a billionaire with patents. Bruce could only invest. He's not actually smart enough to design anything other than maybe cologne. If I could be one or the other it'd be Spiderman all day. Plus, look at the wardrobe. Spidey's suit weighs what, like 5 pounds? Batman's weighs what, around 100? No thanks.

Hmm...Batman vs radioactive spiderboy..is this a joke? Are you people high? Or having sexual fantasies with spiderboy? Or just ignorant to who batman is. Now wolverine? There's someone who give bats a run for his money(litterally). But SPIDERBOY? There's a comic issue where Superman refers to Batman as the most dangerous man on the planet. Now with prep Batman could defeat anyone(which would be the case with wolverine. But no prep time is needed with spiderboy. He has 1/2 a dozen gadgets to take him out.(gas, electric shock, freeze weapons, army of bats, titanium nets) 1/2 his rogues gallery is crazier, smarter or stronger than spiderboy. This fight is extremely similar to "THE PREDATOR VS THE ALIEN". It would take a multiple spiderboys to take down BatMan. Spidersense is useless when using methods of theatricality and deception to distract him. And you who implied bane breaking his, READ KNIGHT FALL SO YOU CAN LEARN how bane beat Batman. It was a brilliant plan that stretched over a year. The only way to break Batman is to beat him at his OWN GAME. Spiderman is a great super hero and one of my personal favorites. But you spiderfans also forgot one more thing..BATS EAT SPIDERS!!!LOL

Bruce Lee may have looked "super-human" to many because of his shocking endurance, stamina, and durability (real-life Batman) but remember Spidey has the strength to lift a car, Bruce Wayne can't do that. Plus, spider-sense is an enhanced sixth sense that adds to Spidey's super-reflexes and instincts. If Batman came across Spidey for the first time, he would lose in mere minutes even with the gadgets on his utility belt. Now, if he knew about Spidey prepared for the battle, he could possibly win but also realize he would have his hands full since Peter Parker is a super-human like Bane who broke his spine. It would be questionable who would win. Is Bruce Wayne's wits and gadgets better than super-power? The answer to that question is Batman willing to end up giving up or die? Nope. And Spider-Man doesn't kill people because he's a good guy just like Batman. They would both end up making peace which would be the right thing to do.

Its unfair and all but it is what it is. and please stop using the Batman beat superman line.the fact that he only best superman by the use of kryptonite is not a testimony of what he could do in a battle with Spiderman. who may i add, doesn't have any weaknesses. that only helps Spidermans argument. and to the movie watchers, read the comics. get the facts straight.

I can't believe one of the first comments I read has Batman winning. I'm a fan of Batman, and I think if Batman and Spider-man were to fight numerous times, Batman would come out on top eventually. Overall though, it's Spider-man, without question.

Batman is a brilliant, no doubt about that. But people forget that Peter Parker is also one of the smartest people in his universe. His intellect rivals that of Tony Stark and Reed Richards, who often comment on how Parker manages to invent the things he does without the aid of the financing they have.

Batman would have a difficult time psychologically damaging Spider-man. Many of Spider-man's enemies rely on that anyway (Mysterio, Chameleon, etc.)and it doesn't work for them. Parker and Wayne grew up under similar circumstances. They both came out of similar trauma. And Peter managed to keep his sense of humor. He may be a lighter character, but he comes from a very dark world.

Spider-man can literally sense all of Batman's attacks in advance. Sure, Batman has fought fast, powerful enemies. But none that would actually see every one of his attacks coming. This means no trademark stealth attacks for Batman. He's not jumping out of the shadows and surprising the Web-Slinger. Spider-man knows he's there.

Spider-man's intellect rivals Batmans, if not surpasses it. He is far faster and stronger. It's easy to forget that 99% of the time, Spider-man is pulling his punches so as to not hurt people too badly. When Octavius becomes Spider-man, he fights the Scorpion. Not knowing his full strength, he punches Gargan's jaw off. So to think Batman would crack Spidey's skull is crazy talk. Spidey manages to subdue both the Hulk and Juggernaut at different points. He beats the Rhino regularly.

Batman isn't winning physically. He isn't winning the stealth game. They'd may be equals intellectually, but even that scale might tip in Spidey's favor. Eventually, I think Batman would figure out a way to beat Spider-man (he's smart enough that Spidey couldn't win every fight. Plus, Peter is a little naive so I don't think he'd always imagine the lengths Batman would go to). But if they wandered into the same building and had to face off, Spider-man is leaving Batman webbed up on a wall while Bruce figures out how to get himself down. Which, to be fair, I'm sure wouldn't take the full hour.
