AFTERWOKS 3

thats right, its coming. I hope you all have your Afterworks 1 and 2's already. Afterworks 3 is going to be huge. So I'm thinking about doing a piece in it. Like.....

I found a story about two Japanese warlords that hated each other so much they got tired of just calling each other names and decided to put they money where their mouths were. so they each brought their armies out to fight. once there they decided to fight each other one on one. This was the time in japan before the Samurai's soul was the sword and was instead the bow. so they dueled and shot each other full of arrows as their armies watched. at the end they both collapsed near death and were taken back to their respective kingdoms to heal. from that moment on they were best friends.

its between that and a little short story of Colossus running around during WW1. He'd slice a WW1 tank open...thats kinda cool.

I can't decide.

Test page.

Do a story where 2 samurai warlords in tanks shoot each other full of holes, and then Colossus chops them both in half.

If only current world leaders settled their differences in similar ways.

Edward Liu---- I will take that under advisement. it would definately be action to say the least!

fredland-----Harpoons!!!!....hmmmm........never thought of that

i enjoyed the hell out of Colossus(got me through a multi-day power outtage due to hurricane a couple years ago) but...I'd love to see the warlords, man what a story!
Either would be cool tho. Cheers,

Hmmm.... that's a tough one. How about you use whatever story you don't pick for Afterworks 4! I realize that this is no help in solving your dilemna, and merely selfishness on my behalf, but I wanna see both!

Dude! sweet. Maybe do the samurai and then a one-shot issue of Colossus to sell separately! Either way, they would both be great and I'd love to see how you tell them.

....samurai....
~fftt ! ! !
! ! Arghh ! !

I hear the sounds fx coming!

Both have potential for great drama. The question I ask is which would you find more challenging to do? Do that one. Either way we, the readers, win!

Meesimo------ I'm glad Colossus was there for you in your time of need. I'd love to do both but just dont have the bandwith anymore.

Monkeyfeather---- Thought of that. one for each....we'll see.

SF Guild---- Agreed. japanese warlords are cool.

craig----hmmm....just a little bit, yeah! We'll see what i can muster.

Mr Scribbles----- thanks for the opinion humble or other wise.

SMacLeod----- hey maybe you can quit this animation gig and be my personel manager?!! Glad you liked the image. i'd be interested to see how i do it too. Morse said do it in that style, nice and loose. I dunno if I can...... gulp

Jorge---- you are being out voted. But don't count colossus and tanks out yet. Idea inspired by my good friend Kevin O'briens pinup.

Rob A.----- agreed, both have great potential for drama. Warlords would be more challenging. and the readers may win but the artist will suffer...... yeah yeah, and isn't that the point.

My vote is for the Samurai Warlords.

As for the Colossus story... Colossus in the Industrial Age sounds like a book length story to me.

Keep up the great work.

Hey Mandrews,

It must be really hard to decide which story to tell when one has so many ideas to choose from - That's a great advantage!

But if I had to choose, as much as I love Colossus, I'd have to go with the Samurai story - the visual just grabbed me.

In any case, all the best with the story.

Cheers,
Rohit

Mark, the loose style would be great, the movement in the images would feel amazing, however, if you feel like tying it down a bit, check out Juskos stuff for some inspiration.

i'd have to agree that both would be awesome. i mean colossus lumbering around a battlefield and destroying tanks with his hands would be amazing. but a warlord samurai story, complete with crazy battle sequences would be enough to stop my heart. but that's just me...
