ICARUS TAKE

As per a request here is a quicktime of a board I did as an exercise based on the greek mythos of Icarus. I give my students the assignment of boarding their own take on a greek myth or some other fable. Its a great exercise. You should try it.

TITAN

My son came up with this story about a giant robot SOOOO big that people live inside it. He's been writing a story about it. I was inspired to build his "TITAN". This robot is 3027' tall. That's like half a mile. I hope he's big enough for my son.

MANDREWS OUT

I threw in the Eiffel Tower for scale reference.

The TITAN's foot in scale with the base of the Eiffel Tower.

View of the TITAN from the ground.

That little speck on his collar bone area is the size of a human.

BACK!!!! BEARING GIFTS- SHIPS

Yeah its been awhile since my last blog. ( probably for you too so don't judge) I haven't had a lot of time to do stuff NOT for work but I have recently found some time. So below are some of the stuff I've been playing around with- thanks to the new 'Soap Bubble' plug in on sketch up.

MANDREWS OUT

This one is some sort of war frigate. inspired by the submarine style of the STARBLAZERS

This one is a smaller fighter craft. I started with a very graphic shape ( on the more organic side with subtle curves) and built off of that adding detail. I could have gone on forever but this is enough for now. I gots other stuff to do too.
